In 2023 we are bringing to you Australia’s first Walking on Country Program.
But what is Walking on Country?
Walking on Country is a fitness program that has been developed to develop the strength and stamina to explore the trails of the Adelaide Hills and surrounds, while also exploring connection to country, our histories and dreaming through walking and trail running on Kaurna Country.
The program will create the opportunity to:
Connect to country and other Mob.
Learn and share cultural histories/themes.
Improve your overall health, fitness and wellbeing.
Participate in yarning circles.
ABOUT ME
Hi my name is Trisha, owner of Healthy Self Fitness.
In 2020 after going through my own fitness journey and losing 25 kilos at age 38, I created Healthy Self Fitness to share the experience with other women.
Healthy Self was created to teach, inspire and motivate other women to become healthier and ultimately happier versions of themselves, no matter what age or stage that they are in their lives.
Being of Wakamin/Muluridigi decent, I aspire to teach other First Nations people how to hike and trail run while faciliating connection to country.
